Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter

Hey everyone,
So for the past few weeks, there's been a lot (and I really do mean a lot!) hype within the beauty community about the latest product release from Revlon, the ColorBurst Lip Butters. I've come across certain reviewers who have loved these new lip butters so much that they've purchased a number of different shades; and initially I really wasn't interested in purchasing them, not because of the product itself but rather because some of the most anticipated beauty products have been quite disappointing so I didn't really want to waste money on a product that I may not love, and particularly a lip product of which I have certain expectations. So anyways, after that initial hype had died down, and I saw that Rexall (a Canadian pharmacy/drugstore) had them on sale for $6.49 (from the usual $9.49 and it's still on sale this week), I thought I would give these new lip butters a try. I picked up the last remaining one of the shade Pink Truffle, after seeing it on Leina from MakeupbyLeinaBaaaby. On a quick side note, even though there are supposed to be 20 shades of the lip butters, it didn't appear as though my local drugstore stocked all of them. Keep reading for my thoughts on the formula and product swatches.

Clinique Chubby Stick in Whole Lotta Honey

Hey everyone,
Today I'll be reviewing the ever popular Chubby Stick by Clinique in the Whole Lotta Honey shade. Now these released a while back (I'm guessing around early 2011) and I'm happy to report they are permanent additions to Clinique's lip product line. I bought mine from Sephora for CAD $19 and so far it's been my go-to lip product for a sheer but glossy wash of a very warm and flattering shade of pink. This is one of the very few shades of pink that I've enjoyed on both my lip color and skintone and that's saying a lot!
Additionally, the product claims to be a, "super-nourishing tinted lip balm." which I believe the product does deliver. If my lips are slightly dry and need some color as well, I reach for my latest Clinique love. Now if you have a lot of lines on your lips and they are severely dehydrated and peeling, then the product won't necessarily transform them into supple, baby-soft lips but for daily moisturizing it's perfect. Not only is it affordable (for a relatively high-end beauty product) but the Chubby Stick is ridiculously convenient with its twist-up mechanism that negates the need for a jumbo sharpener. The only downside to the product is the very strong "crayola" scent, which I must admit, does disappear after a few uses (perhaps because one gets habituated) but honestly that's my only complaint with the Chubby Stick. Since these do come in a variety of shades, be sure to test one out at your nearest Clinique counter and I'm sure they'll soon become a staple in your makeup bag! Check out swatches below!

Wednesday Wishes

Here's my beauty wish-list for this week:

1) Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Raspberry, Summer Pink and Calypso Coral - I own two pot rouges and am absolutely in love with these products. I don't want to review the products here, because I plan on discussing them in detail in an upcoming post but I'm dying to expand my pot rouge collection and the first two appear to be pinky-brown-neutralish shades which are right up my alley and because I've never owned a coral cheek color, I thought the last shade would be a nice addition. Also, I have no idea why these aren't on the Bobbi Brown website, I hope to God they're not discontinuing the product and rather that it's some sort of technical difficulty!

2) M.A.C. Cream Color Bases - Now I'm looking for a champagne colored cheek highlighter so I'm not sure which of the M.A.C. shades would deliver that, but I've seen a lot of youtube videos that feature them as creamy highlighting products to give you the coveted glow!

3) Bobbi Brown Sheer Color Cheek Tint - Once again, the website isn't showing all of the shades that I've previously seen online, but this product allows for a creamy blush application but with the added convenience of portability. The packaging looks absolutely adorable and since the application is on the sheerer side, I could get away with deeper (think shades or red or plum) colors.
4) Rosebud Salve in a Tube - I always see this at the Sephora checkout "bin-train" which has smaller sized items that are conveniently placed to encourage impulse purchases, but I've never actually bought it, since I have other lip treatments sitting at home, waiting to be used/finished. This seems like a much better alternative than me carrying around the hand-cream sized tube of Vaseline in my bag and I'm hoping that this really does deliver at least a tint to the lips, instead of just being like regular petroleum jelly.

So that's my list for this week, thanks for reading and be sure to let me know what coveted beauty products have made it onto your list!
